All of the puppies in my little sister Molly’s litter were given temporary names by their breeder. Molly’s original name was “Sophie” and since she had been called that name for several months, Wen felt kind of badly for changing it, but she really wanted to name her “Molly MacDuff” and she did.
Later, Wen decided to give Molly a middle name to pay tribute to her original name so she called her “Molly Sophia MacDuff.”
“Molly Sophia” sounded Italian and as Molly began to collect nicknames, one of them was “Molly Bears,” which eventually turned Italian also as “Molly Bears” evolved into “Molly Bearzinos.”
So, Miss Molly Sophia MacDuff Bearzinos, the Scottie of Hungarian descent who was born in the U.S.A. and is a member of the very Scottish MacDuff clan has an Italian nickname all her own.
Isn’t it interesting how Molly, a little Scottie from Kansas, can have connections to a variety of nationalities and I am simply Riley MacDuff from Ohio?!
