From the time that he was a little puppy, Kirby spent a lot of days at work with Wen. He sat in his airline crate on top of the freezer in the veterinary clinic’s treatment room, where he could watch the dogs and cats come and go as they were examined and treated.
Wen’s boss wanted to make sure that Kirby was well socialized, so he had her introduce her puppy to clients with well-behaved friendly dogs. Wen’s co-workers took every opportunity to give him lots of attention and as a result, he became very sociable and everyone’s favorite Scottie. He also earned the title, “Concierge of Hotel Chill,” because he watched the days’ activities from his crate on top of the freezer.
As he grew, Kirby moved to a larger crate in an adjoining room, but his title had stuck and he remained the “Concierge” for the rest of his life.
