There is a lot of information available about the ways that dogs use body language to communicate when we are happy, sad, nervous, fearful, and angry. Our dog expressions can be interpreted by “reading” signals from our body parts, such as eyes, mouths, ears, tails, overall posture, and even hair coats.
My sister, Molly, is definitely the most sensitive of us three Scotties and she seems to have extremely expressive ears. When you watch her ears, they are constantly moving masters of non-verbal communication. She will hold her ears naturally, raise them up, back and forth, direct them like antennas, or completely flatten them—all in a matter of a few seconds.
Molly’s ears are pretty fascinating and compared to the rest of ours, she gives new meaning to the term “fine-tuned”!
