One day when I was about four months old, Wen decided that we needed a vacation in the mountains so we rented a house in Dillon, Colorado. This would be my first experience traveling with Kirby and Sunny and I quickly found out that when a suitcase appears, everyone becomes excited with anticipation.
The car was packed full with three dog crates, dog supplies, luggage, and a cooler. Off we went to the mountains, expecting a relaxing fun-filled vacation. Unfortunately for us, it turned into monsoon season in Colorado and we had days of torrential rain with very few dry spells. Was a lot of water going to ruin our vacation? Possibly, but it didn’t prevent us from cruising around and exploring the trails around Lake Dillon when the rain let up.
Eventually, the weather cleared, the lake and mountain views were amazing, and we experienced all sorts of sights and smells that were new to suburban Scotties. Vacation is a very good thing!
