All of the homes in our neighborhood that aren’t adjacent to open spaces have 6 foot wood fences. Our neighbors on both sides of our house each have two large dogs with lots of attitude and they like to bark ferociously when they are let out into their backyards. If we Scotties happen to be in our backyard, Molly and Sadie will run to the fence and bark back, which can create quite a racket.
Wen and the neighbors on both sides are sensitive to our disturbing the peace, so they always quickly put an end to our barking, because the rest of the neighbors probably don’t appreciate hearing a canine choir.
It seems as though all of us dogs feel that it is necessary to protect our fenced in territories and we do a good job of it, but when we get too exuberant, we get in trouble and find ourselves back inside!
