In anticipation of bringing her one and only rescue Scottie, Frosty Froofers, home, Wen bought an airline crate for her to sleep in. Since she had to disguise the fact that there were now three dogs living there (instead of the “legal” limit of two), Wen put Frosty’s crate in her bedroom walk-in closet and essentially, Frosty had her own room.
If the maintenance man was due to show up, Wen made sure that all three dogs were out of the apartment, hid the third food bowl, put a blanket over Frosty’s crate, and closed the closet door so that there was no evidence of a third dog.
This plan worked out well and when Wen and her three Scotties moved to their new house, one of the bedroom walk-in closets was so huge that Frosty and Sunny could share it, as their two crates easily fit in one end of the closet. The two girls had their own room with a 24/7 open closet door policy and both of them seemed to enjoy being closet dwellers.
These days, Sunny has the closet room all to herself with a large cage to sleep in and a fan for a nice breeze. It’s Sunny’s house and she guards her territory well!
