None of the MacDuffs have really been interested in games like chasing light beams from flashlights and laser penlights, except for one—Duffy.
When he would notice a moving light on the floor or a wall, Duffy would start up a frenzied chase, trying to bite the light and he could be entertained for quite a while.
He wasn’t picky—any light would get a reaction out of him. One afternoon, Wen was driving her boss to pick up his truck after work and Duffy was riding along, sitting on the console. All of a sudden, sunlight reflected off of her boss’s watch onto the headliner of the SUV and Duffy immediately noticed the moving light patterns. He jumped straight up in the air, trying to bite the reflections, which totally surprised Wen and her boss who almost had a very excited Scottie fall into his lap!
Who would have thought that one little ray of sunshine and one Scottie could cause such a big commotion in a moving vehicle?!
Duffy’s “sister,” Corky, took one look at a beam of light from a flashlight and she had the game figured out. Her eyes followed the light from the flashlight to the floor and then back to the flashlight and she walked away. Duffy, on the other hand, enjoyed the free entertainment of the dancing beam of light for his entire life.
