The Famous Stud Dog

One day, Wen took Casey to the vet in Dallas for a routine appointment and when they arrived, there seemed to be a lot of tension in the air.  The receptionist said that there was another Scottie in the office, but it was definitely one to stay away from!

Naturally, Wen was interested in seeing the other Scottie, so the receptionist told her to wait until he left the exam room.

There was a half door between the lobby and the hall to the exam rooms and Wen was told to stay behind the half door and watch.  An exam room door opened and out walked a black Scottie.  He walked down the hall by himself to an open door where his handler stood, holding the door open to a waiting car.  The Scottie jumped into the car, the handler closed the door, and they drove off.

The staff had warned Wen to not lean over the half door as the Scottie came down the hall or try to get his attention.  Evidently, the Scottie was the premier stud Scottie of the Dallas area and he was extremely mean!  Wen’s vet told her that when the handler brought the dog there, he let him out of the car into the hospital where the Scottie would walk straight into an exam room, get examined and treated, and then walk back to the car by himself.  He was so mean that it was hard for anyone to put a hand on him and they took every precaution so no one would get bit.  They knew that she was a huge Scottie fan and that she would want to see this famous stud dog, but only from behind the closed half door.  Better safe than sorry!

Wen was fascinated to see the rock star treatment of the dog, but she was glad that her own dog, Casey, wouldn’t ever require all of the extra precautions of a mean dog.  She would take Casey over the stud dog any day!
