Ever since she saw a wind farm for the first time, Wen has been fascinated by the huge wind turbines.
On a road trip from Denver to Missouri several years ago with Kirby, Sunny, and Frosty, her favorite part of the trip was passing by the Smoky Hill Wind Farm in Kansas which stretched for miles and miles.
Another memorable wind farm sighting was on the trip to Kansas when we brought Molly home as a puppy. The Cedar Point Wind Energy Project in eastern Colorado was impressive during the daytime, but on our way back to Denver late at night, the flashing red lights on the turbines were a spectacular light show.
We can’t exactly have a wind turbine in our backyard, but we do have a few wind spinners and some colorful pinwheels for festive decorations and that’s about as close to a mini-wind farm as we can get.
