Where’s Riley?

Small dogs seem to like to follow their human family members around the house to see what’s going on and we three Scotties are no exception.  Whether Wen goes upstairs, downstairs, or out in the backyard, she has three interested parties following her around, looking for something fascinating to happen.

Many times, Wen has walked out of a room and closed the door, unknowingly leaving one of us behind and when she has realized that a Scottie was missing, she has gone back and opened the door and there was either Sunny or me standing there.  (Molly never gets left behind.)

Sometimes, when Wen calls us in from cruising the backyard, I lag behind (especially if there are particularly interesting smells or a hole-digging opportunity) and I get left outside.  That’s exactly what happened the other day and when Wen went looking for me, I was nowhere to be found.  Where was Riley?

Okay, maybe I didn’t come in when we were called and maybe I had found a great spot to dig a hole on the side of the house where she couldn’t see me, but when she finally found me and saw the hole and the mud on my nose, I lucked out and didn’t get in trouble because she was relieved to find me.  Whew, lucked out again!
