Begging

We Scotties have always been discouraged from begging for food.  Wen prefers that we don’t pester people when they are eating and we’re not supposed to hang around and give them “the look” either.  We do sometimes congregate in the kitchen while she is cooking if the smells are particularly intriguing, hoping that a tasty morsel might drop onto the floor, but since she is not a fan of us Scotties eating people food that is too rich for our doggie digestive systems, she pretty much closely watches the food that we eat and scraps don’t seem to fall where we are.

The closest we get to begging is whenever Wen heads over to the kitchen counter where the big jar of mini Milk-bone treats sits.  We know that when she takes the lid off that it’s treat time and all three of us show up immediately to get our treats.  She will also rattle the bag of chew treats that sits on a shelf in the pantry when it’s treat time, so when we hear that signal, we come running.  Other than that though, begging is definitely not appreciated and if any of us Scotties would make a nuisance of ourself while someone was eating, we would get a reprimand or find ourself removed from the room!

I heard the lid come off the Milk-bone jar!
