Wen and her Scotties lived in a house in Missouri that was on a long parkway with two one-way streets. One early morning, she was running late for work and since they lived one house from one end of the parkway and there were no other cars in sight, she drove down the driveway and then went the wrong way on her side of the parkway past the one house to the street that led out of the neighborhood. She went around a curve and was quickly met with flashing lights! A police car was parked there and the officer had seen her going the wrong way down the parkway and she was busted!
Wen pulled over and the officer, who happened to be a woman, got out of her vehicle and walked up to the SUV. As soon as she got close, Wen rolled down her window and as the officer began to speak, Corky and Duffy, who were riding along to work, rose up from the back seat, showed every tooth in their mouths, and spontaneously barked their heads off.
The police officer was so startled that she stepped back from the car with the two Scotties barking like crazed beasts practically in her face. She said, “you know what you did,” Wen nodded, and Corky and Duffy were still crazily barking as the officer shook her head, said “have a nice day,” and walked away.
Corky and Duffy had defended their SUV territory with their surprise barking attack and ended up saving Wen from getting a ticket. She was late to work, but very relieved and her Scotties were rewarded with extra treats that day.
