Happy Pi Day!

It’s March the 14th and that makes it 3.14 or the day we celebrate Pi Day.  How do we celebrate Pi Day?  Well, with a pie, of course!  If only we Scotties could have a piece, but I’m sure we’ll get extra dog treats instead.  I certainly hope so!

I wish….

Climbing to New Heights

Only one of us Scotties likes to jump up regularly on the back of the couch and the loveseat and hang out there.  Yep, it’s Sadie and she must like the sensation of climbing to new heights to feel taller and get a different perspective.

Actually, Wen stacks folded blankets on the back of the couch to discourage her from getting up there, but that still leaves the back of the love seat for Sadie to conquer and she’s very skilled at jumping up there and happily be on her perch.

Another Wintry Morning

We Scotties woke up to another wintry morning today.  It didn’t snow a whole lot, but enough for us to romp around the backyard, kicking up sprays of snow, which we love to do.

Wen caught us digging through the snow to dig in the dirt—the one thing we REALLY love to do and she chased us back inside, which always seems to happen when she notices the holes we’re working on.  A little snow won’t deter us from digging though and another wintry morning has provided us with fun times, including rolling around in the snow on my back!

Mardi Gras

Two days ago was Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday and of course we had to celebrate, even though we are not exactly in New Orleans.  Okay, not even close, but we couldn’t let a festive day go by where we could dress up and have special treats!  I was all decked out for the occasion and so was Gus, our indoors goose and I must say that we were stylin’!

School Buses

Recently, there was a story on the news about a school bus where all the passengers were dogs and every week day, you can see school buses in our neighborhood.  I even have my own school bus Halloween costume.

I’m not sure that Wen would let us Scotties go for a bus ride, but she did get us a school bus of our own and she let us know that it was a new toy for us to play with.  It wasn’t as big as a real school bus or even as big as my costume, but of course we had to check it out.

The Porch Goose

Evidently, back in the 80’s and 90’s, way before our Scottie time, Wen had a concrete porch goose in Missouri that she dressed in various outfits.  The porch goose thing was a huge fad that had long been forgotten until Wen spotted some porch geese made out of plaster on clearance last fall at Joann’s Fabrics.  They reminded her of her porch goose back in the day and they looked so lonely that she couldn’t resist and she brought one home.

The goose sat in our garage until right around Valentine’s Day, when Wen came across the Porch Goose Club of America page on Facebook and she found out that there was a current resurgence in popularity of porch geese and people all over the country are searching for them and dressing them up again.

So Wen brought the goose in the house and gave it a new coat of paint and sealant and named it “Goosetav Ganderpump.”  The name sounded a little pretentious, so he would go by his nickname “Gus.”

Since Gus was made of plaster, Wen decided to keep him inside and after a trip to the dollar store, he was duded up for Valentine’s Day and we Scotties had to check him out.  Looks like the porch goose is here to stay and his stack of outfits and accessories seems to be growing.  Wen is even posting photos of Gus on Facebook, just like she posts pictures of Molly, Sadie, and me, so Gus is definitely here to stay, but he’s a fun hobby and he’ll never replace us Scotties!

The Right Accessory

Sometimes an occasion arises that requires you to look your best and a good brush out of your haircoat is just not enough.  When you want to look especially nice, a doggie outfit is an option, but sometimes an appropriate accessory can do the job.  Yep, the right accessory can totally up your look!

Gimme S’more!

S’mores are ooey gooey sandwiches made out of graham crackers, Hershey bars, and toasted marshmallows that we Scotties aren’t allowed to eat, even though they smell SO good..

Not only is chocolate toxic to dogs, but graham crackers and marshmallows are sugary treats that dogs don’t need and can you imagine what a mess our Scottie beards would be if we ate melted marshmallow goo?

I suppose that I have to be content with my dog toy that looks like a s’more.  It may not be tasty, but it sure will be fun to tear apart!  Gimme s’more!
