Memorable Photos

We Scotties have posed for many pictures through the years. Not only has Wen submitted our best photos for the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club annual calendar, but we have many memorable photos of our previous Scotties that were taken by photographers at club picnics.

Here are two pictures of Kirby and Sunny that were taken at club picnics. Sunny was just a puppy in the first photo and she had grown up in the other photo. She and Kirby were best buddies all their years together and it’s really special to have these pictures of them!

Scottie Club Photo Shoots

Back in the day, when Wen first joined the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club, they had annual picnics where professional photographers were available to take pictures of the members’ dogs. From these photo shoots, picture selections were made online and a few weeks later, the selected photos were printed and mailed to the members.

The photo shoots were done as sort of an assembly line, with the members helping to pose their dogs, but amazingly, every time there were nice quality photos to choose from and Wen would purchase several of her favorites.

After all, who doesn’t appreciate nice pictures of their dogs?!

Happy National Pet Day!

Show some love to your pets today! It’s a special day for us because it’s National Pet Day in the U.S.

I didn’t know that we pets had a holiday today until Wen discovered it online. We kind of get special treatment around here every day, but if we pets get our own day, we’ll take it!

Have a Good Good Friday!

Somebody decided that it would be nice to take some Easter pictures of us Scotties. After all, we have some colorful Peeps plush toys and some eggs with our initials on them to use as props.

Do you think that we were in the mood to pose for pictures or cooperate for such a task? I’ll let you decide. Have a good Good Friday!

April Snow Showers

Just when our grass was starting to green up, we got another snowstorm. Instead of “April showers bring May flowers,” it’s more like April snow showers here in Colorado.

Of course we Scotties enjoy the snow, but it’s kind of strange when it’s nice and warm one day and freezing cold the next.

Yesterday, as we were outside in the snow, Sadie’s paw pads started to freeze, so she limped up on the deck to head inside. Frozen feet didn’t prevent her from slurping up some snowflakes though!

Feels Like Spring!

After two days of high winds raging and blowing tumbleweeds to the side of our house, the winds have died down and it’s nice and warm. It finally feels like spring! Okay, at least it will for a few days until the next snowstorm. Colorado has crazy weather this time of year and on those intermittent days of warm weather, we Scotties are outside enjoying the sunshine.

Something Good

We Scotties constantly look for something good to eat in our backyard. Yes, I know that we’re not supposed to eat landscaping bark or dirt, but that’s what we love to do. We could get in trouble a million times for pulling up grass and digging holes to get a mouthful of dirt, but nothing seems to deter us from searching for something good. And what does “something good” mean to us? Just about anything!

See anything good? Nope.

Nothing good here.

The Candy Striped Bed

We ended up keeping a prop from my Candy Cane Lane Adventure that I did before Christmas. Wen donated most of the decorations, but the candy striped bed was so cute and plush that she thought maybe we Scotties would enjoy having it by the fireplace to snuggle up in on cold nights.

The bed is rather small, but it has proved to be very popular with Sadie and me. We may fill it up when we curl up in it, but it’s comfy and it keeps us warm so I guess we will continue to have our colorful little festive Christmas decoration to use. After all, two dog beds by the fireplace are better than one!

Yep, It’s Me!

Who is that wheaten Scottie in the 2023 Up Country, Inc. catalog? He sure looks familiar. Yep, it’s me, Riley! I actually made it into their dog products catalog and we are very excited to see me online, modeling their products. Who would have thought?!
