Is It Monday?

What day of the week is it?  Is it Monday?  Since Wen retired from the animal clinic, we Scotties don’t accompany her to work anymore, so the days all seem the same and the weekdays are pretty much like the weekends, except for maybe more weekend activities.

Without our work schedule to follow, I guess it doesn’t really matter what day of the week it is as long as every day revolves around us Scotties!  We have our own schedule of eating, going outside, playing, and sleeping and as long as that doesn’t vary too much, we’re fine.

Is it Monday?

Our Special Day

Yesterday was National Dog Day in the USA and International Dog Day everywhere else.  I suppose it’s nice that we canines have a special day to be recognized by our owners and we Scotties did get a special treat, but frankly, it seemed pretty much like every other day, because we always get treats and hugs and lots of attention.  You know what that means?  EVERY day is National Dog Day at our house!

Bacon?

Bacon?  Are you sitting there eating bacon?  The nose knows bacon smell and that is definitely it!  Are you going to share, because I’d love a little taste of bacon!  Doesn’t your favorite boy deserve even a tiny piece of bacon?  Huh?  Come on, please?

Hint, Hint

You may have noticed that I have jumped up on the couch right next to you.  It’s my way of telling you that I’m ready for you to scratch my back, hint, hint.  We both know how much I enjoy a good backscratch and I’m ready, hint, hint.  A backscratch would feel REALLY good right now, hint, hint.  You can feel free to start scratching any time!

What is That Thing?

Something strange to us Scotties was spotted in our yard for the first time.  It was small and it flew around with super fast wing flapping and it even appeared to hover.  The thing was so fast that we Scotties didn’t know what to think as we watched it zooming around.   We stared at it as if to say “what is that thing?”

The strange thing was a hummingbird and none of us had ever seen one before.  As a matter of fact, Wen had never ever seen one flying around our yard.  Maybe this is the first of many or maybe we’ll never spot one again, but I have to say that it was certainly entertaining!

Molly: What is that thing?

Patrolling the Patrollers

Our backyard is finally looking better because Wen has been working hard on growing grass in the bare spots and holes that we Scotties created.  She has fenced off several parts of the yard so we can’t do any damage there, however, we still have most of the yard to run around in and when she’s not looking, we can sneak in some digging.

Since we can’t help ourselves, Wen accompanies us out in the yard and as we patrol our property, she patrols us.  Patrolling the patrollers helps to keep us honest so she has less yard repair work.

Oh, No, Not Again!

Somebody woke up and shook her head like crazy this morning.  Oh, no, not again!  Not another ear infection!

Yep, Sadie was shaking her head and pawing at her ear, so Wen had to clean and medicate her ear and get the cone of shame out of the closet.  Poor Sadie is once again wearing the cone to prevent her from shaking her head so violently.  The last thing she needs is another ear hematoma surgery, so that cone had better help!

Meanwhile, the medication must be working, because Sadie has calmed down, she is hardly shaking her head anymore, and she can’t paw at her ear because of the cone she is wearing.  Things seem to be improving, but let’s face it, Sadie is not thrilled about the cone.

Is this a happy face?
