“I Told You So!”

Sometimes we Scotties do things that we know will get us in trouble, but we seem to do them anyway.  We may know better, but dogs will be dogs and the odds are that we will eventually do something that earns us a big fat lecture.

Sadie seems to get in trouble a bit more than Molly and I do and each time she looks very regretful, but chances are good that she will repeat her offense in the future, even though she continues to get in trouble.  If I could talk like a human, when Sadie does something to get herself in trouble, I would probably have one thing to say, “I told you so!”

“I told you so!”

A New Obsession

There seems to be a new obsession with pickleball at our house!  Ever since Wen took pickleball classes and she has been playing regularly, more and more pickleball equipment has been showing up.   We now have a collection of indoor and outdoor pickleballs, paddles, a pickleball caddy, and even a practice net.

We Scotties haven’t exactly witnessed a game, but we will occasionally chase after a stray pickleball when Wen is practicing.  Hey, a ball’s a ball!

Ready to play?

Bring On Those Treats!

Don’t think for a minute that we Scotties won’t notice when there’s a new bag of dog treats on the kitchen counter!  Our treat jar of Milk-bones is always there, but bags of different dog treats come and go as we use them.  We Scotties naturally keep track of our treat inventory and when Wen puts a brand new bag on the counter, I assure you that we know it’s there and we are waiting for the sweet sound of that bag being opened.  Bring on those treats!

Are you going to open that new bag of treats or what?!!!

Unique Little Characters

We Scotties are highly intelligent dogs.  That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it!  Not only are we studious, but we are well read and we excel in school, especially obedience school.  Ha ha ha, just kidding!  Actually, we are so independent, self-assured, and stubborn that we pretty much do whatever we want, so it’s a good thing that people who are owned by Scotties are such loyal fans, because we are truly unique little characters!

Today’s the Day!!!

It’s finally here—the start of the the Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue first ever Facebook auction!  Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all proceeds from the auction will benefit the rescue Scotties.  For more information and to check out photos of the Scottie collectibles that are up for bid, visit the Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue Facebook page.  Bids will be accepted until 5 PM Mountain Time, September 26.

Yippee, today’s the day!!!  What?!  Only people can bid??  Not dogs??

Lazy Morning

It’s Monday again and the temperature dropped, so it definitely feels more like fall.  When we Scotties went outside this morning, leaves covered the ground from the neighbor’s big tree and the chill in the air made for an invigorating morning stroll.

What do Scotties do on a lazy Monday fall-like morning?  We find a comfy spot on the couch!

A Typical Three Scottie Photo Session

So sometimes when we Scotties pose for pictures we do well.  That’s kind of the exception to the rule though, because most other times, not so much.  When it’s just one of us, chances are pretty good that we might get a good shot, but once you add another dog, or even worse, two more dogs, the odds of getting all three of us to pose nicely with our ears up go way down.

The usual three dog photo session at our house goes something like this:  Molly puts her ears flat to her head, Sadie lies down and won’t sit, meaning that she does everything she can not to cooperate, and I start off really well and slowly get frustrated because my sisters refuse to pose well.

Today was no exception with Sadie constantly trying to leave and Molly’s ears glued to her head.  Then, Sadie put her ears down for shot after shot until we all looked kind of frazzled and disgruntled.  Yep, it was a typical three Scottie photo session.

Moseying Around

We Scotties just had a grooming appointment and Gigi, our groomer, worked her magic on us once again.  We came home smelling like dog perfume and looking mighty fine, but as soon as we got home, we were out in the backyard moseying around.   You never know when you can come across a stinky spot in the grass to roll in to cover up that freshly groomed perfume smell!
