Besties?

My two sisters don’t really hang out together very much and it’s pretty unusual to even see the two of them sitting next to each other for even a few seconds.   Sadie is usually my buddy on the couch or snuggling on the floor or in our dog bed in front of the fireplace and Molly and I are best buddies, since we grew up together, but she prefers her personal space.

To find Molly and Sadie sitting in close proximity is a rare occurrence, as Molly has picked on Sadie in the past, and to see them together is definitely a photo worthy opportunity.

Hello, girls!  Maybe you two could be besties?  Yeah, probably not.

Poster Girl

Guess who was the poster girl for the fundraiser benefiting Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue on Saturday?  We were told that my picture was going to be on posters, but when Wen got to the venue, she saw Molly’s photo with arrows pointing the way on posters!

It was Molly’s first time to be featured on posters and Wen was pleased to see her cute photo, particularly since a photo of me was used several years ago and I’m the one who is known for modeling, even though Molly is the prettiest of all eleven of Wen’s Scotties through the years.  Her good looks really deserved to be on display and it was a nice surprise for Wen to see her most gorgeous Scottie featured!

Fundraiser Day

Today is the big day of the annual fundraiser for Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue and Wen and her friends from Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club have been working hard to collect and sort the Scottie themed donations and set up the venue for a hopefully very successful auction.  I even helped out by snoopervising as Wen organized her donations over the last few weeks, so that everything was Scottie approved.

The fundraiser is the biggest event of the year for the Scottie club and it’s a fun one with a ton of items to bid on, lots of pay and take items, and lunch is included.  The event will begin at noon at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S Colorado Blvd and all people who love Scotties are welcome to come and help out the rescue Scotties in need.

Let’s hope that this fundraiser is the best one yet!

Looking Good!

Yesterday was grooming day, which was fortunate since we Scotties were looking pretty shaggy the last week before our appointment.  We go every eight weeks and by week number eight, we don’t exactly look our best.

Wen delivered us to Gigi, our groomer and went to go play pickleball while we got bathed and groomed.  For some reason, Gigi finished us in record time, Wen picked us up, and we were back home before we knew it, looking much better.

Grooming day is always a little chaotic and stressful for us Scotties, since we have to get up extra early, get brushed out thoroughly before our appointment, and ride in the car for 50 minutes to get to Gigi’s groom shop.  When we get back home after grooming and another long car ride, all three of us Scotties normally end up on the couch for a good snooze.  We may be sleeping soundly, but we’re all looking good!

The Spooky Season

Now that it’s the middle of October, our Halloween decorations are beginning to pop up at our house.  Wen is in decorating mode and ghostly things, skeletons, and jack-o’-lanterns are now scattered around our living room.

As soon as the Halloween decorations appear, we Scotties can expect Wen to come home with new doggie costumes for us, not to mention goofy Halloween masks and props for photo ops.  We even recently received three spider dog toys from our friend in Nebraska that we will eventually play with and chew up.

Yep, ‘‘tis the season….the spooky season!

Annual Auction

Every year, the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club hosts a fundraiser to benefit Scottie Rescue and this year’s auction is this coming Saturday.  Wen has been busy organizing the items that we are going to donate to the auction and as always, I have been snoopervising.

This year’s donations include an all wheaten Scottie basket, a Halloween basket, a skating Scottie basket, a kitchen mini basket, a Pamper Yourself mini basket, a plush throw, and a Scottie doormat.

Let’s hope our donations help raise some funds to help the rescue Scotties in need at the annual auction!

A Good Backrub

Every once in awhile, you can see a manic flurry of activity from one of us Scotties on the couch or on the floor.  We will be flipped on our backs, writhing around with our legs in the air and there will usually be growling sound effects.

What are we doing on our backs, kicking our legs as we roll around?  We are giving ourselves a good backrub and even though we may look a little odd, it feels really satisfying.

As soon as our backs have been sufficiently rubbed, we flip back over on our four feet and go on our way, but those few seconds of writhing around on our backs really hits the spot!

A Visit to the Vet

Somebody has an appointment with Dr. Nina, our vet today and it isn’t me this time!  My sister, Molly has been drinking a lot of water and having accidents in the house, so Wen is concerned about her and Molly has earned herself a visit to the vet.

It’s not that we Scotties don’t look forward to a car ride and we love seeing our vet, but Molly doesn’t like to be messed with and she can get anxious in strange places, especially if Sadie and I aren’t with her.  Hopefully she will do well, cooperate, and not get all tense, but she is a princess, so you never know.

Good luck at the vet, Molly!  (Better you than me!)

Squeak, Squeak, Squeak

What’s that noise?  (Squeak, squeak, squeak).  It sounds like a squeaky toy.  (Squeak, squeak, squeaky, squeak).  Yes, it’s the sound that one of my favorite toys makes when I bite down on it and I absolutely love those plush bottles with plastic bottles inside.

I carry them around, biting and squeaking until I decide to settle down and do some intensive chewing through the plush bottle to get to the plastic bottle.  Then I concentrate on chewing up the plastic bottle and eventually, the squeaker’s gone and the bottle is a massive mess with tooth holes and pieces of plastic and Wen takes it to throw it away.

I love me a squeaky bottle and I hope they never quit making them.  Every $3.99 that Wen spends on them is money well spent, as far as I’m concerned!  (Squeak, squeak, squeak)!

Pumpkin Everything

Now that it’s officially fall, not only is it pumpkin spice latte season at the coffee shops, but more like pumpkin everything season.  We have pumpkin scented candles, pumpkin decorations, pumpkin donuts, and pumpkin flavored cream cheese spread at our house, not to overlook our pumpkin dog toys.   It seems as if everywhere you go, stores are displaying pumpkin products and it’s about time to pick out a special pumpkin at a pumpkin patch.

In addition to that, our decorations for Halloween also feature Jack-o’-lantern pumpkins.  I suppose that pumpkin season is in full swing, so happy pumpkin everything!
