Sometimes, having a black Scottie with big white teeth can come in handy.
Wen has never been a huge fan of solicitors ringing her doorbell, so years ago when the doorbell would ring numerous times and she would see a persistent solicitor through the peephole in the front door, she would pick up her black Scottie, Duffy, and open the door as she held him.
Solicitor meant “intruder” to Duffy and he would defend his territory by showing his teeth. Seeing Duffy’s twitching lips and mouthful of huge teeth was usually enough of a deterrent to rid Wen of her solicitor fairly quickly.
Duffy, who was actually a mild-mannered dog, looked pretty scary when he showed his pearly whites. He would never growl or snap, but he still made his point and served his purpose very effectively!
