It’s a good thing that Sadie likes to snuggle, because she makes the best pillow. My Sadie pillow’s not too puffy or flat like real pillows can be. She’s just the right height for me to rest my nose and even better, lucky me, she seems to like it!
Sick Time
It’s been kind of different around here lately. Wen came down with food poisoning from some fried chicken that she ate and she was down and out for several days. We Scotties were perplexed at first with her unusual behavior and her struggles to feed us and let us outside, but we eventually realized that something was way wrong and we kept a close eye on her.
That’s one thing about us Scotties—we are very loyal to our family members and we stayed by Wen’s side during her sick time.
Now that she’s feeling more like herself, we’re hoping that things go back to normal though. She’s going outside with us again and that’s a good sign. Now maybe we’ll start getting more treats too. We Scotties can hope!
Sittin’ on the Back of the Couch
Every once in awhile, Sadie can be found sittin’ on the back of the couch or the loveseat in our living room. No one knows what prompts her to jump up there and she doesn’t do it very often, but it must be a random interesting idea to sit up high.
Maybe it feels good to feel tall for a few moments. After all, we Scotties have short little legs and we only measure 10 inches at the shoulder, so jumping up and sitting higher than usual must give Sadie a different perspective.
Molly has jumped up to sit tall a few times too, but you’ll never catch me up there. I’d rather snuggle on the couch cushions than teeter my way across the top, just to sit about twelve inches higher!
Fat Tuesday
Yesterday was Mardi Gras and of course it’s a favorite day for us to celebrate. We may not live in New Orleans, but that doesn’t matter to us. Any excuse to dress up and celebrate and Fat Tuesday was no exception!
Hey!
Hey! We’re all here and we want to watch All Creatures Great and Small. Could you please change the channel? A snack would be nice too! Thank you!
24 Hours of Snow
The sun is out now, but as of last night, we had over 24 hours of continuous snow. Just when most of the snow in our yard had melted and there was only one patch left, we got dumped on again.
Of course, we Scotties were happy to go out and go exploring, but early this morning when it was three degrees outside, it didn’t take long for our feet to start to freeze and we were lining up at the door to be let in while Wen was shoveling off the deck.
It looks like that old groundhog was right. An early spring is nowhere in sight!
Love is All Around!
It’s Valentine’s Day and love is all around! We Scotties are getting lots of hugs and extra treats, so it’s a lovely happy holiday. ❤️
❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day, everybody! Big Scottie kisses! ❤️
Super Bowl Sunday
Well, the Denver Broncos haven’t won the Super Bowl since 2015, but we’re hopeful that with our new and very experienced coach, they will be a much better team next season. Meanwhile, Super Bowl Sunday is always fun and entertaining and there’s usually lots of good food around, not that we Scotties get to eat people food, but we’ll get some extra special doggie treats.
Bring on the action!
Couch arms & Pillows & Throws, Oh My!
We Scotties LOVE our couch and loveseat. We spend a lot of time every day comfortably stretched out on our favorite furniture and what makes the couch and loveseat so desirable? Not only are the arms of both of them nicely stuffed, plush, and large enough for us to lie on top of, but there is a nice assortment of various sizes of throw pillows available at all times for us to scooch up to or prop up our noses. Also, Wen has a collection of comfy throws for us to curl up on that make the nicest plush piles for making a nest and snoozing.
Yes, couch arms & pillows & throws, oh my! They tend to make couch potatoes out of us Scotties, but why not take advantage of them? They sure make the best gigantic dog beds!
Head Tilt
Owners of Scottish Terriers like it when they talk to us Scotties and we actually listen. They really love it when we look at them and tilt our heads to one side, which we Scotties seem to have quite a talent for doing.
Sadie, in particular, can really tilt her head back and forth, which she does regularly, while Molly saves her head tilts for when she is staring or listening intently. I, on the other hand, prefer my head on straight!
There’s one other reason for a head tilt and that’s when there’s an infection in one ear and we tilt our head to that side, but that’s a whole different issue that’s not so cute!
