A Chilly Morning

It’s a chilly morning and we Scotties were met with evidence that it had snowed a little overnight when we went out in our backyard very early.  What do we do after we’ve been outside on a chilly morning?  We wait for Wen to turn on the fireplace and then Sadie and I make ourselves comfortable on the dog bed to soak up the warmth.  Molly doesn’t have frequent flyer miles on the dog bed like we do, but instead, she finds her favorite spot and she curls up on the couch.  Then, it’s not too long until all three of us are snoozing away.  If I do say so myself, we Scotties know how to enjoy a chilly morning!

The Frigid Zone

We have been living in the frigid zone this week.  We actually had below zero temperatures for the first time in a very long time and Wen was taking measures to prevent pipes from freezing at our house.  At least the temperature today is above zero and heading in a more comfortable direction.

Of course, we Scotties enjoy our time outside in the snow no matter what, as long as our feet don’t get too cold and we start limping.  Those times when we can barely walk and Wen has to come and rescue us are when we know that we’ve spent way too much time out in the frigid zone!

A Snowy Groundhog Day

It’s Groundhog Day, but here in Denver, no groundhog is going to see his shadow.  It started snowing yesterday afternoon and it’s still snowing.  While Wen cleared the snow from our deck, we Scotties explored the conditions in our backyard and so far, we have just made one path to the area that is most protected underneath a big blue spruce tree. I’m sure that later on, we’ll start plowing our usual circle around the yard, but for now, we’re enjoying the warmth from the fireplace until our next trip outside.  Groundhog Day is definitely a snowy day this year and we Scotties are “walking in a winter wonderland!”

Another Snow Day

What started out as a cloudy day turned into another snow day.  Yep, before we knew it, we Scotties were out in the backyard digging holes in the snow once again.  Just when almost all of the snow from the last storm had melted, we got a whole new batch today and do we Scotties love it?  Yes, we do!

The Lego Snoopervisor

What happens on snowy winter days at our house?  The Legos come out and Wen builds interesting miniature architectural projects.  Each Lego set contains bags of tiny plastic pieces that are, of course, very fascinating to us Scotties.  We hang around the table where she works on her Lego projects and if a piece should happen to fall onto the floor, we are ready to pounce on it, so she has to be really quick to grab a piece off the floor before one of us could swallow it.

I like to supervise her building projects, which basically means that I watch her put the pieces together, so it’s more like snoopervising than supervising, which earned me the title of Lego Snoopervisor.  As Snoopervisor, I may not be the best at quality control, but I do like to watch what’s going on!
