The First Time

My sister, Sadie, recently jumped up on the back of the couch for the first time and it seems that the first time has led to more times.   Ever since, she has been walking along the backs of the couch and the loveseat and making herself comfortable by stretching out up there.

It’s not as though it’s unusual behavior, as several of Wen’s prior Scotties have perched on the backs of couches in the past, but it’s been quite a few years and quite a few Scotties ago.

Now that she has conquered the back of the couch, Wen hopes that Sadie doesn’t plant herself up there all the time, or there’s going to have to be lots of couch fluffing going on every time that Sadie jumps down!

What the heck are you doing, Sadie?

Battle of the Bark

The other day, Wen put down fifteen bags of landscaping bark in our backyard and we Scotties were ecstatic, because we LOVE to chew it and eat it.  Talk about roughage!  Of course, it’s not good for us to eat that stuff and if we would swallow too much of it, we could end up with an intestinal blockage, but does that stop us?  Heck no!  We can’t help ourselves, because the bark texture is perfect for chewing.

To discourage us from eating the bark, Wen put sturdy metal fences around the flower beds years ago, but being smart doggies, we have figured out how to grab pieces of bark with our teeth and pull them out through the fences.  It’s a constant battle of the bark with us Scotties determined to get to it and Wen taking pieces away from us and since we have a big new supply of it right now, the bark battle continues….

Hey, Sadie, is that a piece of landscaping bark in your beard?

Football’s Back!

Yay, football’s back and the Denver Broncos played their first preseason game and got a big win!  Okay, it’s only preseason, but a win is a win and it’s way better than a loss!  Welcome back, football season!  Let’s go, Broncos!!!

I Heard You!

Just when you think we Scotties are snoozing or not paying attention, SURPRISE, the joke’s on you!  We may look like we’re asleep, but our antenna ears are listening, especially when our name is mentioned or we hear our favorite words, like “treat” or “outside.”

Yeah, we tenacious terriers don’t miss much and even though you may think I’m not listening, I heard you!

I heard you!

An Expressive Face

My sister, Sunny, had an expressive face like no other.  Not only would she cooperative like a professional and pose for pictures, but her portraits were wonderful.  Sunny had a talent for rolling her eyes and her big brown eyes were very eloquent in expressing her emotions.  Even two weeks before we lost her to cancer, Sunny was still the eye rolling champ of all us Scotties.  She had a one of a kind face that’s etched in all our memories.

Who Loves Scottie Christmas Items?

Here I am, advertising the Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue Facebook auction which is coming up, September 23-26.  I always knew that Santa hat would come in handy some day!

Who loves Scottie Christmas items?  Love me some Scottie Christmas items like this Danbury Mint Scottie Christmas House that will be featured on the auction!  Festive, festive, festive!

Back to School Time

Once again, it’s back to school time where we live and summer isn’t even over!  That summer break seemed to absolutely whiz by and in a few days, the kids are back in the classrooms.

My sister, Sunny, posed for a couple of great back to school pictures.  She modeled like a pro and she knew how to wear a pair of glasses to look studious.  We sure miss you, Sunny.  You may have been a lovable ditzy blonde, but you were our fearless leader and you sure knew how to take a back to school picture!

Scottie Rescue Auction

Rocky Mountain Scottie Rescue is holding their first ever Facebook online auction of Scottie collectibles to raise money for the rescue Scotties here in the Denver area.  The auction will be held September 23-26 and there are some really nice items to be auctioned off, such as a Scottie Christmas tree and house, a handmade Scottie quilt, signed and framed prints, Scottie dinnerware, and a Scottie statue.  Hopefully, lots of people will bid on these Scottie collectibles, because the proceeds will benefit the very deserving Colorado rescue Scotties for their healthcare and rehoming.

I nose the auction will be a success!
