It’s another crazy Colorado Monday. The clouds moved in and the sun disappeared, the temperature dropped quickly, and it may be spring, but we’re expecting snow. Earlier this morning, there were high winds that were blowing our Scottie beards when we were outside, but now it is eerily still and dark. In other words, it’s perfect nap weather.
Another Snow Day
So we had another snowstorm overnight. We Scotties spent the day enjoying our usual routine of switching off cruising around in the snow and spending quality time snoozing by the fireplace.
What is the perfect companion for another snow day? A good book!
All You Need is Love?
The Beatles were only half right when they sang “All you need is love.” I think this sign says it all!
Scottie Antenna Ears
Our Scottie ears are antenna ears. They don’t miss much! We have prick ears so they are always up and on the alert to hear whatever happens.
We especially would hate to miss any important conversation, such as anything involving eating, treats, or going outside or for a ride (Yes, I know that those important words rhyme!) and heaven forbid that our ears wouldn’t pick up the sweet sounds coming from the kitchen that involve food preparation. Food wrapper rattling, box or package opening, and refrigerator, cabinet or pantry door opening sounds are music to our ears! You never know when one of those sounds could result in a tasty morsel for us.
Our antenna ears not only pick up people voices, but we can hear dogs barking all over our neighborhood whether we’re outside or in our house. After all, barking dogs are like a gossip hotline.
So remember, whether we’re asleep or awake, our Scottie antenna ears are up and ready to tune into you!
A Good Stretch
What feels really good and helps us Scotties start our day? A good stretch! Molly and Sadie and I like to stretch out our bodies from front to back to loosen up and get the kinks out whenever we feel that we need to. Stretching feels relaxing to all our doggie muscles and gets us ready to move. Isn’t it amazing how something so simple can feel so good?!
The Big Pink Egg
We Scotties got a new toy for Easter. Yep, it was a big pink egg. Wen rolled it across our living room floor and it went all wonky, so naturally all three of us chased after it, but it was too big for us to bite, so we jabbed at it with our noses. It spun and rolled around each time we poked it, which made us run after it even more.
You would think that the big pink egg would entertain us for quite awhile, but Molly and Sadie soon lost interest and after I pushed the thing across the floor two or three times, I decided that I was bored with it too. It was fun for a few minutes, but the novelty had worn off, so the big pink egg sat alone on the floor, ignored by the Scottie crew from then on.
Back to Making Tracks
We were supposed to get a thunderstorm last night. Instead, we got a surprise snowstorm! The flakes were huge and the snow was wet and heavy. In other words, it was a typical spring snowstorm in Colorado.
We Scotties had gotten used to sunshine and warm weather, so it was shocking to go outside and get pelted with snowflakes again, but we like snow and we were immediately back to our favorite activities of making tracks and eating snow.
This morning, the snow on the ground was even better than last night because it had frozen overnight, so we crunched as we made tracks and then we crunched some more as we ate pieces of icy snow. All in all, we’re having a good time, thanks to that surprise snowstorm!
Happy Easter to Our Peeps!!!
It’s a beautiful Easter morning and we Scotties would like to wish all our Peeps a very happy Easter!
Oh, Well….
There I was, enjoying some peace and quiet when Sadie showed up and flopped herself down right next to me. So much for personal space and peace and quiet! Oh, well….at least she made a good pillow to rest my snoot on!
What Do You Mean?
What do you mean? Of course dogs can read and we like to look at the pictures too! Isn’t that right? I’m sure dogs can read. Yeah, we can read. What? No???
