After losing Poo, Wen thought that she would never find another wheaten Scottie, but as luck would have it, a Missouri breeder advertised a litter with three wheaten female puppies and Wen quickly scheduled a meet and greet where she chose the lightest-colored one. Little did she know that adorable Corky would become her greatest challenge, due to her strong-willed independent personality!
Corky took every opportunity to challenge her big brother, Duffy, from their first introduction. Luckily, they became the best of friends and after Buffy died at age fourteen, Corky and Duffy were a very bonded “black & white” pair.
At times, it seemed as though you could just see the “devil dog” in Corky’s eyes! Her strong personality made her more feisty than Wen’s other dogs, but that strong will would prove to be an asset later in her life.
Many years later, after Duffy lost his long battle with adrenal and pituitary tumors, Corky hung in there by herself for several months until Wen found her the perfect companion from a Missouri breeder who happened to be a wheaten male puppy, rather than a black one. The “black & white” era of the MacDuffs had come to an end, but it was a happy ending!
