One day when Casey was twelve years old, tragedy struck and he suddenly collapsed and died due to heart failure, leaving a big hole in the MacDuff family and no male or black dogs.
After several months, Wen decided to remedy the situation and she found a black male Scottie puppy in St. Louis who the current owners had just brought from Colorado, but had to give up due to moving.
The puppy had already been named “Duffy” but Wen decided to keep the name, even though he would become “Duffy MacDuff.” He and Poo would be the next “black & white” MacDuff duo.
Duffy was a very handsome boy with an easy-going personality. He never really acted like a puppy, perhaps since his sisters, Buffy and Poo, were much older and more reserved by that time. When Poo started a gradual decline due to advanced liver disease, Duffy was her best buddy and after she was gone, he was a great companion for Buffy in her later years.
