Guess which lucky Scottie is going to the Edgewater, Colorado, Celtic Harvest Festival today. You guessed it—me, Rileyroozers! Wen and I are scheduled to work at the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club booth at the festival, which is basically a big meet and greet to promote Scottie rescue.
Normally, at these type of events, the club members take turns talking about Scotties with people who come by the booth and there are usually several Scotties sitting on s big table for people to pet as they visit with the club members.
This will be my first time attending a festival, so it should be very interesting. Hopefully, I will behave myself, but you never know, since there will be strange people, other dogs, and a huge variety of activities going on. I need to keep up the MacDuff family tradition (no pressure there) and be sociable. My brother, Kirby, of course, was “Mr. Personslity” and he would stand on the table and meet people with a wagging tail. He would actually stand up on his rear legs and give people a “hug,” so he was a perfect Scottie ambassador.
My sister, Sunny, went to the festival with Wen last year and although she acted a little more reserved than Kirby, she did well and let people pet her as she sat on the table and then when she figured that she had had enough, she tried to jump off the table and Wen knew that their shift was over.
I guess that time will tell if it was a good decision to leave Sunny at home and take me along today and we’ll soon find out how well I ride in the “Scottiemobile,” which is our red wagon. Wen duded it up with signs and large Scottie cut-outs especially for the festival and it’s very unusual, to say the least!
With any luck, everything will go okay and we will have a good time. Who knows, maybe this will be the first of many festival appearances for Rileyroozers!
