Wen adopted her one and only rescue Scottie at PetSmart from Every Creature Counts, a Colorado no-kill shelter. She was an approximately two year old white-ish spayed female who was thought to be a Westie/Cairn terrier mix, but Wen knew a wheaten Scottie when she saw one (even with a strange hairdo) and she took her home to get her out of the shelter.
At the time, Wen lived in a two-dog-limit apartment with Kirby and Sunny, so she relinquished the dog to Scottie Rescue, but after a month of agonizing over her decision, even though some great people were set to adopt her, Wen had to reclaim her dog.
Scottie Rescue had allowed Wen to name the dog, so she was named “Frosty” after Wen’s first wheaten Scottie, Frostianna MacDuff, and she gradually became “Frosty Froofers.”
Kirby and Sunny accepted their new sister with no problems what so ever and they lived together happily for five years without one snarky episode.
About the time that Frosty was six years old, her left eye appeared smaller than her right eye and she was diagnosed with a “brain incident.” She lived a normal life for another year and then after an MRI, she was diagnosed with three brain tumors, which sadly took her life after she had bravely fought for over a year.
For a little dog who had been in two shelters with no known history, Frosty turned out to be a very sweet Scottie who was the perfect sister for Kirby and Sunny. At least she had finally found a loving home with a a Scottie family and even, eventually, a house with a backyard to play in. It’s just really sad that she couldn’t have enjoyed her new life longer.
Frosty Froofers was a true example of “only the good die young.”
Heya fantastic website! Does running a blog such as this take a large amount
of work? I have no understanding of programming however I had been hoping
to start my own blog soon. Anyways, should you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off topic however I simply wanted to ask. Appreciate it!
Hi! I had no programming experience either so I signed up with WordPress and they set me up with a web designer. I would find a web designer on your own though because it would be faster and cheaper. It would be better to work with someone in person, rather than on the phone. I chose everything on the site. That’s why it is so simple: my lack of tech savvy. Google “how to start a blog” for more help. Good luck, the Rileyroozers crew
My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of your post’s to be just what
I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content to suit your needs?
I wouldn’t mind publishing a post or elaborating on some of the subjects you write regarding here.
Again, awesome site!
Thanks so much for the kind offer! The blog is written solely from my dog, Riley’s viewpoint, so even I won’t be posting anything as myself ever. Thanks again though! –the Rileyroozers crew
Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working
with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m
having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
I use WordPress.
