Kirby in the Clouds

After Kirby died about a year and a half ago, Wen was extremely sad, since he was her favorite dog ever, ever, ever.

One day while at work, she opened the back door of the animal clinic and looked outside.  There in the clouds overhead was a silhouette of a Scottie, but it wasn’t just a Scottie:  it was a Scottie with wings!

Wen could hardly believe it.  She called her friend to come look and he totally agreed:  there was Kirby in the clouds!

The clouds were moving fast, so the image was quickly distorted, but there were two witnesses to the event.

Ever since, when she thinks about it and the clouds are just right, Wen looks for Kirby and every so often he is there.  Sometimes, he will be lying on his back as if enjoying a good backscratch and sometimes he will just be a big Scottie head with a beard and eyebrows.  One time, there was a complete frame of clouds and inside the frame was a perfect blue sky silhouette of a Scottie.

Wen knows that it’s not really Kirby and that her real dogs are Sunny, Molly, and me, but it makes her feel better to see a reminder of her best buddy ever up there in the clouds.  (And if, by some miracle, it really is you up there, Kirby, thanks for watching over us!  We’ll never forget you–ever, ever, ever!)
