I really need to practice my obedience lessons, but I have a good excuse. It is common knowledge that Scottish Terriers are one of the hardest breeds to train due to their independent nature. I’m a Scottie—that’s my excuse!
One day, Wen took me to a dog trainer for a private obedience lesson. She usually takes her dogs to group classes, but since I may or may not growl at other dogs, a private lesson seemed like a good idea. The trainer was a very nice lady who was extremely patient with me. We went over most of the entire beginner obedience class in one hour and I did fairly well, mainly because there were treats, treats, and more treats! Of course when I was allowed to roam around the room so that we could practice “come when called”, Wen sweat bullets that I would hike my leg on the nice agility equipment or a wall, but I behaved myself. I did, however, growl when a lady and her Shih-tzu came through the door. Once a terrier, always a terrier!
