All four of us Scotties (including Sadie, the puppy) got in trouble out in the backyard yesterday. Wen caught us chewing on pieces of bark again.
We used to chew on bark with a vengeance, but we hadn’t done it for months and months until the other day, when it seemed like a good idea again. Wen doesn’t like it when we snatch pieces of bark from the landscaping and chew on them, because we eventually swallow them and later vomit them up (with any luck). If we should end up with a collection of bark pieces in our stomachs, they can create an obstruction requiring surgery, so Wen will literally chase us down, open our mouths, and take out the pieces.
I know that she is trying to save us from our bad bark-chewing habit, but we are chewers by nature so keeping us honest is a challenge, especially that now we have taught Sadie our bad habit and she has become as obsessed with it as we are.
I do have one suggestion for a bark-chewing deterrent though: more Milkbones, please!
