“Slip Slidin’ Away”

Winter storms can be brutal in the Midwest.  Not only can there be treacherous snow storms, but there can be ice as well, which is even worse.

One winter when Wen and her three dogs lived in Missouri, they had a pretty serious snowstorm during the night.  The next morning the snow was fairly deep so Wen decided to take the dogs out one at a time and when she opened the door, Poo zoomed out in the yard and began to flail about.

Apparently, a layer of ice had formed on top of the snow and it was so slippery that Poo sat down and immediately went sliding down the hill as if she were on a sled.

Wen went after her to grab her before she slid into the street and ended up sliding down the hill also.  After lunging at Poo and rescuing her they tried to make it back up the hill to the house, but with no success.  It was so slippery that Wen finally ended up on her hands and knees and with an arm around Poo, they slowly inched their way back up the hill.

Watching Poo slide down the hill as if she were on a sled would have been hilarious, except for the fact that she was heading straight for the street!  Fortunately, all ended well though.  Poo was safe and the other two dogs were let out on a short leash so that there wasn’t a repeat performance of “Slip Slidin’ Away!”
