Yesterday was Veteran’s Day and I wore my VFW poppy to honor the veterans who served our country. Wen’s father served in the Navy and he was a proud member of the VFW for over 50 years and when she was a young girl in the Brownies and Girl Scouts, Wen and her friends sold poppies on their downtown street corners to benefit veterans’ organizations. To this day, Wen still buys poppies to honor the brave men, women, and dogs who have bravely served so that we can live free and safe in the USA. Thank you, veterans!
