We three Scotties are a food-driven bunch. Whether it’s treats or meals, we are very competitive and out for number one.
A few years ago, Wen was used to having Kirby, Sunny, and Frosty eating together in the kitchen without any problems whatsoever. Then I came along as a little puppy and I was fascinated with the food in Kirby and Sunny’s bowls, so I ended up eating in my big wire cage because I tried to snitch everyone else’s food.
Molly is just like me in regards to food-snitching. She will try to dive into everyone else’s food bowl also, so Wen had to revise our eating routine. Her solution was to separate the three of us and have each one of us eat in a different room. Molly eats in the bathroom with the door closed and I eat in the laundry room with the door closed. This makes it easier for Sunny to eat in the kitchen without anyone bothering her and there are no opportunities for any food-snitching or snarking.
You would think that we three Scotties could eat peacefully in the same room, but for us, “the grass is always greener” and everyone else’s food looks better, so until we can behave ourselves, we will continue to eat in solitude.
