This morning, Wen took me along to a Geocaching event at a shelter in a park that’s a few miles from home. It was a good opportunity to go for a car ride and visit a nice park where I could practice being more social.
The people at these events are very enthusiastic about their hobby, which is an outdoor treasure hunting game where people use their GPS devices to navigate to a specific set of coordinates and attempt to find the Geocache container that is hidden there and they have lots of stories to tell. Wen visited with some of her friends who she’s known for years and I got to meet people and a few dogs too.
We were having a nice time until a lady walked up to our shelter with a large rambunctious dog on a leash who had a muzzle on. The dog took one look at a Pug and me and growled and lunged at us. Luckily, the lady had fairly decent control of her dog, so she didn’t let it loose, but it kept lunging and screaming. The Pug didn’t react, but I became rather agitated and started to talk and growl, so Wen thought that it was a good idea for us to excuse ourselves and leave the event (and the menacing dog) before something bad happened. Better safe than sorry, so we were outta there!
After a fun car ride home, the joke was on me: I got a bath in the kitchen sink! What a busy morning!
