I don’t normally pay any attention to the TV when it’s on, but the other day I happened to notice that there was a Golden Retriever on the screen and I stared at it intently from my spot on then couch, stood up, and growled. Was that an intruder trying to come into MY living room?
Every once in a while, Sunny and Molly will watch the TV for a few seconds when something catches their eye, but none of us are really “TV watchers” like two of our predecessors.
Buffy, the Cocker Spaniel, was apparently an avid TV fan. She would sit on the couch and stare at the screen for long periods of time, no matter what was on.
Corky, on the other hand, had a favorite yearly event that she really seemed to enjoy. She wasn’t particularly interested in any other TV programs, but one really caught her attention: the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. She would sit on the floor in front of the TV and watch as if it was the most fascinating program ever. Sometimes, all of a sudden, she would jump up and run straight to the TV and Wen swore that Corky understood what she was watching!
I am more interested in a good backscratch than in watching TV, but when I saw that Golden Retriever, I absolutely had to defend my territory!
