One October, a few years ago. Wen agonized over selecting dog costumes for the Rocky Mountain Scottish Terrier Club’s Halloween party. She just couldn’t seem to come up with an original idea for the costume contest.
Finally, one day at work, she had a revelation: Kirby, Sunny, and Frosty would be the Village People!
It took several shopping trips and a few alterations, but she had a construction worker outfit for Kirby, a police uniform for Sunny, and an American Indian outfit for Frosty. Kirby and Sunny would probably wear their costumes with no problems, but would Frosty be able to wear a feather headdress?
The day of the Halloween party arrived and they were all set. The costumes were ready and Wen had recorded “Y.M.C.A.” so that there would be music to go along with the costumes.
Getting three dogs dressed up and sitting still with back up music among a large group of people and dogs was a major miracle, but somehow they pulled it off. (Frosty even sat like a statue with her feather headdress!)
It was a great day for the MacDuff clan, because they won first place for group costumes and afterward, people snapped photos as though they were celebrities on the red carpet!
“It’s fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.” Oh, yeah!!!
